Booking terms

These terms apply when you book a taxi with Mappyz Taxiz through this website. They don't affect your legal rights as a consumer.

Who provides your journey

Your journey is provided by Paul Mapstone trading as Mappyz Taxiz, licensed by Fife Council. All our drivers and vehicles are licensed.

Making a booking

When you book, we look for a driver straight away — or, for a booking in advance, in good time before your pickup. You can follow progress on your booking page. If we can't find a driver, we'll tell you on that page and by email, and you won't owe anything.

Fares

  • Standard trips — before you book, we show an estimated fare worked out from the route distance and our rates for that time and day. Your driver confirms the final fare. It can differ from the estimate if the journey changes — for example extra stops, waiting time, or a different route because of roadworks or at your request.
  • Airport and long journeys — the fixed price shown when you book is the price for that route.

Paying

Pay your driver directly at the end of the journey. We never take payment through this website.

Cancelling

You can cancel free of charge at any time before your journey starts, from your booking page or by contacting us. If your driver arrives and can't find you, they'll try to call you on the number you gave us; if they can't reach you after a reasonable wait, they may cancel the booking.

What we ask of you

  • Give us accurate pickup details and a phone number your driver can reach you on.
  • Be ready at the pickup point at the booked time.
  • Treat drivers with respect — they can refuse a journey where their safety is at risk.

We use your details only to arrange and carry out your journey — see our privacy policy and cookie policy.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of the part of the UK where you live, and you can bring any legal claim in the courts there.
